Philip was born and raised in Fort Worth, TX, also known as Cowtown. As a boy Philip loved to frolic around in the heat, eating watermelon, drinking Tab soda, and soaking up the Texas sun.
He took his first steps on stage in 1991 at his first dance recital with the Bruce Lea Dance Factory. At age five he began performing in local NBC commercial advertisements. His first role in a musical was the batboy in the local high school production of Damn Yankees when he was nine. At age twelve he began performing as a back up dancer for the Miss Texas Pageant, learning a thing or two about strutting.
Through high school Philip performed in regional productions of The King & I, Crazy For You, Kiss Me Kate, and was selected to compete on CBS's Star Search Talent Competition!
In 2004, Philip attended New York University to further his Musical Theatre training. He made the mistake of wearing flip flops in his first snow storm there and has disliked snow ever since. In 2006 Philip returned to Dallas where he could wear his flip flops year round, and joined Muscle Memory Dance Theatre.
In 2008, he decided to give the cold one more shot and moved to Chicago to complete his undergraduate education at Columbia College. He joined The Seldoms shortly after moving and has been working with them since.
